The red bead or Kokiriki are found in Asia and South America and keep their natural bright red/black colour over time. The beads are known to be exchanged in Asia as a sign of friendship.

An Alleweireldt’s jewellery collection is based on the use of materials traditionally seen as precious combined with daily materials. Old records, ice cream sticks and bicycle tires are revealed anew in beautiful shapes you will want to wear; they also become puzzles as the truth of their origin will only be seen by the most discerning eyes.

This inventive designer was trained both in Belgium and the UK as a product and jewellery designer. When graduating from the Royal College of Art she received the Armours and Braziers prize for innovative work.
